The “I Tools” program is an informative and helpful component with reference to student’s retention development. I have found that it definitely helps students recall information from their short term memory bank; its interactive practices are refreshing and its user friendly. The units are well organized and are very useful. I have found it to be a valuable asset, especially with my lessoning planning. My student’s enjoy the “I Tools” exercises; they really like the sentence completion, dictation and listening exercise.
Suggestion: I believe the students would like longer exercises within the program. The exercises don’t seem to be long enough and therefore it doesn’t allow every student the opportunity to answer questions within a certain exercise (example: matching activities etc.) but other than that, I have found it to be an effective learning aid.

Nura Lynn
Thanks lynn for your insights. i copied your feedback from the email you sent earlier and pasted here to be viewed by all.
I use this tool all the time while teaching New Headway Plus. On the positive side, the drag-and-drop and matching activities are great opportunities for students to engage in smartboard work. I also like that the listenings are integrated with the software, thus enhancing ease of use.
I would, however, like to see some changes. First, the user interface could be better designed. For example, the teacher's guide can only be read by using the magnification tool, which unfortunately has only one rather microscopic setting that requires constant panning of very large text, making reading a chore. Also, the gap-fill reading activities are practically useless. It would be better to include reading comprehension questions instead.
Overall, iTools is a good ancillary (even though the name is a rip-off of Apple's product-naming convention).
The Itools is a great way to involve students. They enjoy the listening, the fill in the blanks, and the various exercises. It allows the students to participate, interact, and even discuss their answers. They especially enjoy the competitive quiz at the end. A longer review could be added. They really enjoy this part of the I tools
The only thing that could make this better is if we could get the reading to an appropriate size. The readings show too small and when you use the zoom tool, you can only see words, not the entire thing.

Alejandra
I think it would be a great tool if it is made availbale for the students. As Mac is the future, it would be more convenient if we can get a Mac-compatible version.

I think the program is a useful tool for more practice. I t includes a variety of exercises and resources in an attractive way for the students. It also reinforces the students' sense of competition as it has competition exercises between two teams. I agree with my colleague Noura about the number of activities. I would also rtecommend that we should provide students with copies of the program to give them the chance to practice freely at home.
Have a nice day.
